Frequently asked questions

What unit are the margins in?

Points: 72 points = 1 inch, and about 28 points = 1 cm.

Is the cropped area deleted?

No. Cropping hides the area outside the new page size; the content is still in the file. To permanently remove sensitive text, use Redact PDF.

Can I crop just the first page?

Yes — type 1 (or a list such as 1-3) in the Pages box. Leave it empty to crop the whole PDF.

I want an exact page size like A4.

Use Resize PDF — it scales the content to fit A4, Letter, Legal, A3 or A5.

Does cropping make the file smaller?

Not really — the hidden area is still stored in the file. Use Compress PDF if you need a smaller file.
